The White Oak House is a charming, Greek Revival farmhouse available for rental year-round. Named after the astonishingly large white oak tree located in a far corner of the property, the White Oak House is situated on a farm of 95 acres in the upper Hudson Valley in the rural township of Hoosick, NY. Its peaceful setting offers stunning agricultural views.

The house has been fully restored to reflect its historic character and furnished with country casual antiques. Learn more about the house on the Description page.

Surrounded by farm fields, woods and wetlands, the farmhouse is an ideal spot for the enjoyment of nature. Deer and wild turkeys are frequently sighted in the landscape. Hiking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing are welcome activities. Walking or driving along picturesque country roads leading to and from the White Oak House is a favorite pastime by visitors as well as residents. The fall foliage is gorgeous, but at all times of the year guests will be treated to spectacular scenery.

The White Oak House is located in the pastoral area of Buskirk in northeastern Rensselaer County, NY. While private and rural, the house is situated within easy driving distance of the Capital District and Saratoga Springs, NY, Williamstown, MA and Bennington, VT.

THE LANDSCAPE

Grandma Moses landscape

One of many stunning views near the White Oak House. The agricultural landscape in Hoosick has changed little since memorialized in the paintings of renowned folk artist Grandma Moses.

“When you arrive at Constance’s beautiful and peaceful White Oak Farm, you will be immediately struck by the detailed restoration of the home and surrounding outbuildings. It is a place of peace and simplicity. We happily wandered around the farmland and explored new historic and cultural avenues in the area.” — Lindsey, July 2018
